45% of adults and 87% of young people in the UK participate regularly in sport yet only around 8% of the population attend church1. If the job of the Church is to "go and make disciples of all nations", sport seems to be a pretty good place to start!

Where
We play on the astro-turf all weather pitch at Romsey Community School, Greatbridge Road, Romsey S051 8ZB
When
"Kick off" is 8pm on alternate Fridays throughout the year including school holidays except Bank Holidays which is the only time the school is closed. When the Friday falls on a Bank Holiday an extra evening may be booked (subject to availability); check the booked dates below or ask.
Our Aims
Rumour has it we do have a mission statement(!) but the main reason we do it is to enjoy a friendly game of football, share fellowship and welcome visitors with an interest in the game or Romsey Baptist Church (or both).
Visitors are welcome
All visitors are welcome, we usually play half pitch with two games running if enough people turn up. The football is of mixed standard (!) and anyone 16 and over is welcome (see “Age Restrictions”).
Age Restrictions
Adult (18 and over):
Visitors are welcome but anyone wishing to play must sign a form confirming they are 18 or over and provide contact details in the case of an accident. Please don’t be offended if we ask for proof of your age, it means you are fortunate enough to look young!
This form will be available at pitchside and can also be downloaded here.
Youth (16 & 17):
Youths of 16 and 17 are welcome but anyone wishing to play must sign a form confirming they are 16 or over and provide contact details in the case of an accident. This form must be signed by your Parent or Guardian before you can play.
Please note that in the rare event that 2 CRB checked leaders are not available to run the evening under 18’s will not be able to play. We will endeavour to update the web site when we know this is going to be a problem but it is possible we may only know this on the evening (if, for example, leaders are delayed at work or ill).
This form will be available at pitchside (although you won’t be able to play until you return with a copy signed by your parent/guardian) and can also be downloaded here.
Youngster (under 16):
Sorry but we follow Football Association guidance which prohibits under 16’s playing in any "open aged" football.
Rules
The game is played to normal football rules but in a friendly spirit and without a referee so potential players should not be too serious about applying the back pass, handball or off-side rules! A good sense of humour also comes in handy.
In the event of a dispute the leaders decision has to be considered final and is expected to be supported by all players!
Cost
Charges vary according to the cost of the hire and the numbers regularly attending. It is currently £3 for adult wage earners and £2 for students and non earners.
